Terms of use

Last updated 5 October 2026

Guessberry is a free game about what happens next. You guess, you see what everyone else thinks, and you earn Berries when you are right. These terms are the rules. We have kept them short and plain, and by using Guessberry you agree to them.

1. Who runs Guessberry

Guessberry is a product of Fruut Labs (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/622890/07, a company registered in South Africa. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Fruut Labs (Pty) Ltd, and “you” means anyone using Guessberry. You can reach us at support@guessberry.com.

2. Who can use Guessberry

You must be 18 or older. You confirm this before your first guess. If we learn that someone under 18 is using Guessberry, we will remove their guesses and their record.

3. Free to play

Guessberry costs nothing. You never pay to guess, and nothing you can win on Guessberry has any money value.

  • Berries are a score. They show how often and how confidently you have been right. They cannot be bought, sold, given to someone else, or exchanged for money, vouchers, goods or anything else.
  • Guessberry is not gambling. Nobody puts anything of value in, and nobody takes anything of value out.
  • If we ever run a promotion with a real prize, it will have its own rules, published before it starts, and those rules will apply to it alongside these.

4. Your guesses

  • You can make one guess on each market.
  • A guess is final. Once you make it, you cannot change it or take it back. That is what makes a record of guesses mean something.
  • Each market shows what share of people chose each outcome. Every guess counts the same, however sure the person was. You see these numbers once you have guessed, or once the market has closed.
  • You can only guess while a market is open. Guessing stops at the close time shown on it.

5. How markets are decided

Every market says, before you guess, how it will be decided: when it closes, the source we will use, and the rule for reading that source. Once the source has confirmed what happened, we record the result by that rule.

Sometimes a market cannot be decided fairly. The source may never confirm a result, events may make the question meaningless, or we may have made a mistake in how the question was set. In those cases we void the market. A void market counts for nobody: no Berries are earned on it and it does not affect anyone’s accuracy.

If you think we have recorded a result wrongly, tell us at support@guessberry.com and say why. We will look at it against the market’s own rules. If we did get it wrong, we will put it right, which may mean voiding the market. Otherwise our decision stands.

6. Berries and the leaderboard

When a market is decided, a right guess earns Berries. Each market shows how many Berries it is worth, and how many you earn can depend on how sure you said you were. A wrong guess earns nothing and loses nothing.

The leaderboard ranks people who have saved their guesses with an account and chosen a username, by the measure it shows. We may correct Berries awarded in error, and we may remove Berries or leaderboard places gained by breaking these terms.

7. Guests and accounts

  • You can guess without an account. Your guesses are then tied to the browser you used, so clearing it or switching phones loses them.
  • You can save your guesses by adding your email address. We send a code to confirm it is yours. After that your record follows you to any device where you sign in.
  • If you guess as a guest on a new device and then sign in, the guesses from that device join your account. Where you guessed the same market twice, your original guess stands and the newer one is dropped.
  • One account per person. Keep access to your email address, because it is how you sign in.
  • Your username must not pretend to be someone else, use a brand you do not represent, or be offensive. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.

8. Playing fair

The crowd numbers are only worth reading if each one is a real person. So you must not:

  • use bots, scripts or any automated means to guess or to create accounts;
  • use more than one account, or guest records on several browsers, to push a market’s numbers or climb the leaderboard;
  • try to get around our checks that you are a person, or our other protections;
  • copy Guessberry’s markets or data in bulk by automated means;
  • interfere with Guessberry or use it for anything unlawful.

If you do, we may remove your guesses and Berries, and suspend or close your account.

9. What others can see

The crowd result on each market is public. So is the leaderboard, which shows your username, Berries and accuracy once you have joined it. What you guessed on a particular market stays private unless you choose to share it.

We may publish or share overall results, for example what share of people expected an outcome, with the media or partners. These never identify you. Our privacy policy explains the rest.

10. Not advice

A market is a question about what might happen, and its numbers show what people on Guessberry believe. They are not a forecast of fact and not financial, political, legal or any other advice. Please do not rely on them to make decisions.

11. Our content

The Guessberry name, the berry mark, the design and the markets we write belong to us. You are welcome to share links to markets and screenshots of them. Please do not use our name or mark in a way that suggests we endorse you.

12. Changes

We may change, pause or stop Guessberry or any market. We may also update these terms. When we change them in a way that matters, we will say so on Guessberry, and by email if you have an account. Using Guessberry after a change means you accept the new terms.

13. Our responsibility to you

Guessberry is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using Guessberry or from relying on anything shown on it.

Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act, that the law does not allow to be taken away.

14. Leaving

You can stop using Guessberry at any time. To delete your account and guesses, email us from the address on your account. We may end your access if you break these terms.

15. The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa deal with any dispute about them.
