Rules: Resolves on the Monetary Policy Committee's decision announced on 19 November 2026 on the repo rate, which the Reserve Bank now calls its policy rate. Cut: any reduction. Hold: no change. Hike: any increase. Each is compared with the rate in force immediately before the announcement.
If the source is down: If the Reserve Bank's statement is unavailable, use its announcement as reported by at least two reputable South African news organisations.
If plans change: If the meeting moves, the market follows the next scheduled MPC announcement, provided it is before 31 December 2026; otherwise void. An unscheduled change before the announcement does not count.
